Gallagher Funeral Services
A Family Owned Business
Chapels in Leeds and Harrogate
Families are often overwhelmed, by the extent as to how much a funeral will cost. With this in mind we have taken the decision to put our prices on our websites, to help you make an informed decision as to what kind of funeral you would really like to have.
Regardless of the approach you take, we will provide you with a clear, transparent breakdown so that you can see exactly what is included.
Let us guide you and your family in creating a meaningful ceremony to honour the life and memory of your loved one.
A ceremony can be anything you wish it to be: simple or elaborate, traditional or unique. You knew your loved one better than anyone else.
We’ve got years of experience. Together, we’ll design the perfect memorial or funeral service for your loved one.
To qualify, you or your partner (we use partner to mean a person you are married to or a person you are living with as if you are married to them or a civil partner or a person you live with as if you are civil partners) must be receiving one of these benefits or tax credits:
• Income Support / Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
• Pension Credit / Working Tax Credit where a disabled worker is included in the assessment
• Child Tax Credit at a rate higher than the family element
• Housing Benefit / Council Tax Benefit
It must be reasonable for you to have taken responsibility for the funeral expenses. This will usually mean you were the partner of the deceased. Or, if they had no partner, you were a close relative or close friend of the deceased.
Please refer to our Help with Funeral Costs page for further information
You can claim a Funeral Payment from the date of death and up to 3 months after the date of the funeral. Funeral Payments are usually made by cheque in the funeral director’s name.
